FSH sprung from the observation that marginalized stories in the Southern United States are being overshadowed by conservative politics. This publication celebrates these stories and art, while putting them in front of non-Southern eyes. It is only by broadening everyone's view that these marginalized groups can make progress.

The color scheme and logo stemmed from a need to marry the down-to-earth elements of Southern stories with the contemporary sensibilities of my target audience.

Print media is increasingly popular with people in the Northern region of the United States ages 18-35, which inspired the solution of using a publication. Still, in order to reach a broader audience and acquire submissions, the publication has been supplemented with a simple, yet elegant website.
